The OEKO-TEX® Association, a group of European textile institutes, is a global testing and accreditation program for the screening of harmful substances in consumer textiles, with the strictest standards in the world. Companies may become OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified after their products have undergone extensive testing for more than 1,000 harmful substances, including toxins and irritants. Once certified, these companies are licensed to use the registered OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label on their products.
Since its inception in 1992, OEKO-TEX® has come to be recognized as the leader in eco-labeling, with over 235,000 certificates issued to more than 21,000 participating companies along the textile chain and over 1 million licensed products. In the U.S., Cuddledown is one of OEKO-TEX® oldest partner companies, with all of our pillows, comforters and featherbeds, and most of our fine bedding certified to meet their strict global safety criteria.
The testing required for the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification is exhaustive, but we put the highest value on quality and safety for our customers.
Cuddledown continues to explore more “green” products — both certified organic, as well as sustainable. By definition, sustainable is the term designated to natural resources that are able to replenish at the same rate at which they are used, without any aid. Our bamboo products are an excellent example; bamboo is incredibly fast growing and versatile and has become a favorite for its sustainability and durability. In fact, most bamboo is grown without the use of pesticides and is highly renewable. Cuddledown is proud to offer an assortment of sustainable bamboo blend products for bed and bath.
