Hate having a fitted sheet pop off your mattress, or find yourself struggling to keep the comforter on your side of the bed? You can avoid all that by finding Cuddledown bedding in the correct size to meet your needs. Each of our products listed on our website includes its own size chart for your convenience. Simply click on the tab labeled “Size Chart” for specific measurements. The following is a comprehensive guide on bedding sizing.
In North America, typical bed sizes include Twin, Twin XL, Full (Double), Queen, King, and California King. And the most common bed height is about 25" from mattress to floor, which allows most average adults to touch their feet to the floor while sitting on the side of the bed.
Here at Cuddledown, we feel that there can never be too much of a good thing, and as such, in general, our exclusive bedding products are generously sized. In addition to standard sizes, we carry Twin XL and California King, as well as Oversized Queen and King in selected products. If you battle with your sleeping partner over the bedding – select oversized options or size up to the next size!
Many people enjoy the lightweight, lofty warmth of a down or synthetic comforter, with a duvet cover for style and to protect their investment. At Cuddledown, our duvet covers are designed to perfectly encase our comforters, and most come with convenient corner ties to attach to our comforters’ convenient loops, to keep them in place. Comforters are designed to cover the mattress and box springs, allowing you to add a bedskirt for a finished look. And if you want even more coverage, you can always size up or choose an Oversized Queen or King size.
You may also prefer a bedspread that drapes over the sides, down to the floor and up over the pillows, or a coverlet designed to just cover the top of the bed and barely past the boxspring.
Our Cuddledown flat sheets are designed to fit standard bed sizes, so no matter what the fabric, whether you have just a mattress on a platform or a plush pillow top mattress and box spring, you can be assured that our sheets will cover the bed with plenty left over to tuck in.
Although sizes for a top sheet, blanket or comforter size may seem obvious, the fitted sheet is a bit trickier to measure. To avoid the pain and strain of trying to force an incorrectly sized fitted sheet on to your mattress, you can view our How to Measure for a Fitted Sheet video. This video illustrates the proper way to measure your mattress plus any toppers you might also have on your bed for the perfectly sized fitted sheet. Some tips for measuring a fitted sheet include:
Our Cuddledown flat sheets are designed to fit standard and extra long bed sizes, so no matter what the fabric, whether you have just a mattress on a platform or a plush pillow top mattress and box spring, you can be assured that our sheets will cover the bed with plenty left over to tuck in.
California King size beds are sized slightly differently than regular King size (in general approximately 4" narrower but 4" longer than a standard-size king), so you must use a California King size fitted sheet. However, you can easily use standard King size flat sheets, blankets and comforters on California King size beds, or you may also choose Oversized King if you want more coverage.
At Cuddledown, we’ve designed our Standard/Queen and King size pillowcases to be generously sized to fit our supremely fluffy pillows, whether you have a soft pillow, or an overfilled one. And of course if you're protecting your pillow from dust mites, stains and so on with a zip-on pillow protector, our pillowcases are sized to easily go on over the protectors as well.
To add that finishing touch to your bed, bedskirts are an easy way to add style, covering the bed frame, while allowing for convenient, hidden under-bed storage. They come in a variety of styles, from crisp, tailored corners and box pleats, to fully gathered and balloon styles, but regardless of style, they all are measured the same. Some require the removal of your mattress to place them on the box springs, and some are detachable. Either way, you select the bedskirt size that matches the size of your box spring (ie: Twin, King, etc.). Then simply measure the “drop” of your box spring, meaning the height from the floor to the top edge of your box spring. Our bedskirts come in a variety of drop sizes, ranging from 14"-21".
