Retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills is a true hero and an inspiration to us all. He is a recalibrated warrior, motivational speaker, actor, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees. Helping combat-injured veterans and their families is a key element of the Travis Mills Foundation mission.
Despite losing portions of both arms and legs from an IED while on active duty in Afghanistan, Travis continues to overcome life’s challenges, breaking physical barriers and defying odds. In 2013, he founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed to benefit and assist combat-injured veterans. Providing an uplifting and restful, no-cost retreat for combat-injured veterans and their families is a key element of the Travis Mills Foundation mission.
The Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat Designed to help veterans overcome physical obstacles, strengthen their families, and enjoy well-deserved rest and relaxation, the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat is situated on a pristine vista in Rome, Maine. The property was originally built in 1929 by cosmetics pioneer Elizabeth Arden, and served as a luxury retreat for the rich and famous.
After many years sitting in disrepair, the property was completely renovated and has now been reinvented as a retreat for our "nations finest™" a dream achieved through the vision and efforts of Travis Mills and his foundation.
