We use box stitch construction for evenly distributed down and reinforced seams for a longer life. Our warmest level 3 and 4 comforters are made with interior baffles. Each comforter made in USA by Cuddledown using fine imported materials.
Due to the oversized nature of our plush pillows, blankets, and comforters we cannot gift wrap all items. Our special velvet gift bags are ideal for this task.
Protect your comforter investment with our Fine Fabrics Wash & Down Fluffers.
All of our hand selected down is imported from various regions of Europe and Asia. Down is a byproduct of ducks and geese raised for food, and waterfowl are part of the common diet in Europe and Asia. Our down is washed many times with a mild soap and sterilized at high temperature to ensure that it far exceeds federal standards for cleanliness. Our washing and de-dusting process result in down that is hypoallergenic, which means that it is less apt to cause an allergic reaction. And we frequently send samples of our down to be tested by an independent laboratory to guarantee that it is precisely the quality we say it is, if not better. The down arrives at our factory in bulk and we store it in silos until we are ready to use it in our premium comforters, pillows, and featherbeds. It is not easy to make fabric that is woven tight enough to keep the down from leaking, yet breathable, light, and soft. European fabric mills invented downproof fabric but over the years most of that production has moved to Asia - unfortunately the U.S. has no history of making fine downproof fabric. Aside from our ultra lightweight German Batiste fabric, all of our downproof fabric is made to our specifications in China. To make absolutely sure that our products are safe for you and your family, all of our downproof fabric is certified by Oeko-Tex to be free of all harmful chemicals. The pore size of the fabric is also tested to make sure the weave is tight enough to keep down from leaking, but loose enough to breath. Each fabric comforter shell is pre-sewn and double stitched, so it is ready to be filled by our skilled workers. Each comforter is filled, stitched, and inspected by our Portland, Maine manufacturing team. We work directly with the fabric, down, and the finished products, so you can be confident that we have given your comforter a thorough inspection - inside and out! Only after we are completely satisfied that each finished piece is up to our high standards do we package your comforter and send it to our warehouse for shipment to you.
